An outside performance in Filwood to encourage people to the high streets after the pandemic.

Shine a Light

2021-22 Shine A Light (Funded by Bristol Dance Futures)

A conversation with providers of Youth Dance in the city to encourage collaboration and support.

Dance Connect

2021 Dance Connect (Funded by Bristol Dance Futures)

A partnership with MOVEMA and The Trinity Centre to provide dance opportunities for families in Filwood and Knowle West.

Working in a Pandemic

2020-2021 Working in a Pandemic

During lockdown RISE continued working online, the young people created their own films of dance at home, and when restrictions allowed we made films outside with small groups, one of which was shown at U.Dance.

Reaching Out

2019-20 Reaching Out (Funded by Bristol City Council)

A project to encourage dance in schools. We worked with 2 primary and 2 secondary schools which led to a performance as part of REACH.

Rise Trainee Scheme

2018-20 RISE Trainee Scheme.

We worked with 18-25 year olds with an ambition to work in the creative industries providing intensive training in dance and to develop other skills such as project management and marketing.

Working in Gloucestershire

2017-2022  Working in Gloucestershire.

A partnership with Create Gloucestershire and Strike a Light to provide dance in local schools and communities.

Current Projects

Linden Youth Centre Partnership

We worked alongside Under Construction, our partner company from Germany to create a performance for the Bristol Harbour Festival in July 2023.

REACH: Together We Stand As One

Together WE STAND is our annual performance, featuring all the Rise groups working together.

Dancing with Strangers

Working with Trash Dollies & Bath Spa students, we created a unique public performance at the mysterious Loco Klub

Virtual Reality Research Project

Our dancers collaborated with researchers at University of Bristol in a pioneering VR performance.
