Following the success of our visit to Hannover in August 2022, we have been working with our German partners at Linden Youth Centre to continue the collaboration.

We spent the first part of the year planning and fundraising, and in April Helen and Luke, supported by the Bristol Hannover Council, travelled to Hannover to to finalise a visit to Bristol by Under Construction, a group of German young dancers. Helen and Luke were accompanied by RISE alumni Hannah Nelmes who is now training professionally.

As last year, the visit has been funded by UK German Connection, which meant that as well as creating a dance piece which was performed at Bristol Harbour Festival, all the young people spent the week taking part in activities and exploring the theme which was Identity and Community

A great time was had by all involved and the rain even held off for their performance on College Green.

We are looking forward to continuing the partnership with future groups in the future.
